For quite a few years now, January has been a month of madness and stress while I try to submit all my clients’ tax returns by the deadline. I have in the past had to work through weekends and even through the night to get the last few in on time.

This year, thankfully, has been different. It was still more work than any other month of the year,  but there were no insane hours, no power naps at 3am to keep me going a bit longer.
The change is all due to my new partner, Phil. I don’t know whether he was born organised or whether it is simply the result of his time in the army, but he has made a huge difference to the smooth management of our workload.

I have learnt so much from working with him and it is a real pleasure to look back over the past year and see how much progress has been made. It also highlights one of the benefits of working with a partner instead of alone.
None of us is perfect. None of us is good at everything. Choose a business partner wisely and you can fill in the gaps, complimenting each other’s weaknesses with corresponding strengths. I’m really looking forward to the next year’s progress!
